Victory for anti-academy candidates in parent governor elections

Three candidates who have expressed views opposing academy conversion have won seats on the Board of Governors at Hove Park School today. Hands Off Hove Park School (HOHPS) campaigners Sarah Arjun and Mark Radcliffe were voted on to the governing body along with Andrew Whippey who stated that he was against academy conversion in his candidate statement.

The local authority instructed the school to carry out the elections when HOHPS discovered that three out of the six posts for parent governors had been left vacant, one since December 2013.
